After a mega success from spending Rs.10 lakhs on the first KIMA awards in 2013, the 2014 Kannada International Music Award is all set to roll with entries starting from 23rd of May for a period of one week. It is selection of 25 categories of awards in various facets of music in cinema, television, light music, theatre etc. the recognition is made by a panel consisting Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, V Manohar, Kasthuri Shanker, Pravin D Rao and Pravin Godkindi.

The categories are music composer, music composer popular song, lyricist, playback singer, male and female, arranger, programmer, background score – Non film music awards singer, theatre music composer, best singer, light music composer, singer, Devotional music composer, singer male and female, Television – short film and background score, Band music director, Technical awards – sound recording, mixing and mastering – Special music awards, Lifetime achievement, outstanding contribution (3 awards), International musician of the year.

Lokesh organizer of KIMA awards addressing the media said the selection of awards in different categories made via email and SMS, the jury decision is also mixed with public response. 8 category the nominations are there for Simple Ag Ondh Love Story, Lucia is also in the race for awards.
